Who we are
In 2018, Dunblane Community Council and Dunblane Development Trust agreed to work together to ensure that the Burgh Chambers remained a community asset.
Creative Dunblane began life in 2019 as a subgroup of Dunblane Development Trust. By March 2022, it had become an independent Community Interest Company (CIC) and by August 2023, it achieved charitable status as a SCIO (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation).
The original CIC has since been rebranded as Dunblane Makerspace CIC.
Both organisations are run by local volunteers.
Our vision
Creative Dunblane aims to provide people of all ages in our community with access to cultural activities and creative learning opportunities. In April 2025, we secured a 10-year lease for the Town’s Burgh Chambers from Stirling Council, with the long-term goal of taking ownership through asset transfer.
Makerspace
Our first initiative was to set up a community Makerspace. We received funding to acquire 3D printers, a laser cutter and a CNC machine. A vibrant community of Makers has now established itself as part of the Dunblane community.
Co:working
In April 2025, we launched our Community Co:working Hub, offering workspaces to local residents who are looking for an alternative to working from home.
Community Spaces
Early in 2026, we completed the first phase of the refurbishment of the building. This enabled us to make available a number of community spaces where new and existing activities could flourish. The main space is the highly accessible Jackie Kay Room (45m2)
